Acne & Inflammation

Acne is an inflammatory condition, not just a surface blemish. Excess oil, clogged pores, and acne-causing bacteria trigger the immune response that produces redness, swelling, and breakouts. Because inflammation and skin repair are governed by your circadian rhythm, when your sleep, stress, and daily patterns are disrupted, oil production rises and the skin’s overnight recovery weakens, which is why breakouts often worsen during periods of poor sleep or high stress.

Who this applies to

Acne-focused care suits oily, combination, and breakout-prone skin, including hormonal and inflammatory acne. If your skin is very sensitive, reactive, or shows signs of a compromised barrier, aggressive acne actives can make inflammation worse. In those cases I recommend calming and repairing the barrier first before introducing strong exfoliating or acne-fighting ingredients.

My recommendation

Total Beauty Care by Silde is now a fully online practice, so this page is guidance rather than a bookable in-person service. The most reliable starting point is a Circadian Skin Analysis, a written report that reviews your skin type, triggers, and daily rhythm and gives you a targeted routine for managing acne and inflammation. Digital guides and recommended products for acne-prone skin will be added here as they are released.
